Website Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information our website collects and how we use it. We've kept it short, because we collect very little: this site sets no cookies, shows no ads, and doesn't track you across other websites.
This English document is the official privacy policy. Other language pages on this site are short notices that point here; they are not translations of this policy.
This policy covers the website only. Our apps have their own policies — see, for example, Loll Player's privacy policy.
What information do we collect?
Page visits. We count how often pages are visited, using GoatCounter, a simple open-source counter hosted on our own domain. It uses no cookies and doesn't follow you to other websites. It records which page you viewed, roughly where in the world the visit came from, and the type of browser you used — enough to know which pages people find useful, but nothing that identifies you. For example, we can see that a page was viewed 500 times this month; we cannot see who viewed it.
Contact form. If you use the contact form on this site, we receive the name, email address, and message you type. The form also notes the time it was sent, which we use to keep spam out. Messages become part of our business records and are kept for up to 3 years, then deleted — unless an ongoing matter (such as an unresolved support request or a legal obligation) requires keeping them longer. Your message is delivered to our email inbox, which is hosted by an email provider (Google); we don't share your details anywhere else.
Server logs. Like most websites, our server keeps a short-term record of requests, including your IP address, the page requested, and the time. We use these logs to keep the site running and to respond to abuse. They aren't combined with anything else.
How do we use the information we collect?
- Page counts are used to understand which pages people read, in aggregate.
- Your messages are used for one thing: to read and reply to you. We don't use your email address for marketing.
- Server logs are used to keep the site secure and available.
We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. A small number of service providers — website hosting and email hosting — process information on our behalf, solely so the site and our inbox can operate.
Your rights and choices
- You can ask us at any time to see, correct, or delete the contact-form messages you've sent us — just use the contact form.
- If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) or Do Not Track signal, you're already covered: this site doesn't track you in the first place.
- Nothing on this site requires an account, a sign-up, or any personal information to read.
If you are in the EU, UK, or a similar jurisdiction: our legal basis for page counts and server logs is our legitimate interest in running a secure and useful website, and for contact-form messages it is the conversation you chose to start with us. The service providers named above may process this information in countries other than your own.
How we protect information
The site is served over HTTPS, and access to our business records is limited to those who need it.
What we don't do
- No cookies — we currently don't use cookies or cross-site tracking.
- No advertising — we currently don't run ads of any kind.
- No accounts — there is nothing to sign up for.
Children
This is a company information site. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
How will we tell you about changes?
If the site's handling of information changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
